Could Lady Rosamund be Lady Edith's Mother?

Could Lady Rosamund be Lady Edith's Mother?

Are you still thinking about Downton Abbey even though Season 4 is over? Many of us are! We're unsatisfied with the end of this season and we know the wait is going to be endless for Season 5.

I just read a blog post from a blog called Julia's Bookbag.  Julia is clearly as caught up in Downton as the rest of us are. As a matter of fact, to prolong the fun, Julia took a trip...to a local British food shop where picked up a wonderful variety of British foods.  Doesn't that sound like fun? I just might have to do that myself.

On her post, Julia refers to another discussion about the possibility of Lady Rosamund being Lady Edith's mother, which I will admit I had NOT thought of but which definitely would explain a lot, including the differences between Lady Mary, Lady Sybil and Lady Edith who I always thought were totally different for sisters.

What do you think? Do you think Lady Cora is really Lady Edith's mother or might there be a family secret here?

See you
at the movies!

Thank you for putting this out there, I really believe this is a possibility also, and it would be interesting to find out who Edith's real father is, probably a married man Rosamund had an affair with?
I am only asking myself why they wouldn't have told Edith in all this time? Season 4 was very disappointing in the sense that they started all these stories but didn't finish any of them. The season felt very unorganized, however it is still one of the best shows on tv. Thanks again for writing this!

Hi, Amy

You've thought even farther ahead than I. Your theory about Edith's father makes sense though I wonder if it could also be just a really young motherhood.

I agree with your overall sense of Season 4 of Downton Abbey. The last episode felt like a bit of a let down because, as you said, there were so many loose ends.

Regardless, we'll anxiously await Season 5!
