I had seen a review in our local paper, The Ottawa Citizen, which gave The Sorcerer's Apprentice just 2.5 stars out of 5. Typically, that is low enough for me to dismiss any movie but Dianne's comments had me digging through the newspaper bin for that article in order to read what else it had to say. In short, it said that they found the magic to be missing from this version of The Sorcerer's Apprentice...
From there it was off to The National Post who gave it three stars and said that this movie was downright silly, as a matter of fact they called it one of the silliest summer films in memory, but they went on to say that it was also one of the most satisfying.
All this had me wondering what The Movie Mom had to say. I discovered that she gave The Sorcerer's Apprentice a B+, which is fairly good and that she recommended it for children in the fourth to sixth grade at the youngest because it contains fantasy action violence, mild rude humor and brief language. She also said that this movie had a bit of movie magic which transformed it into a fun fantasy action movie for families.
I'm intrigued now and it's all your fault, Dianne.
